Saying goodbye to our dear friend Lee Ripley

United Judo Club has been home to hundreds if not thousands of families for Judo and socialising since 2011. It is with a heavy heart we have to say goodbye to a dear friend to all of us here at the club. Our respects and love are with the Ripley family for their loss of a Dad, Husband, and all round fantastic guy Lee Ripley.

We caught up with a few of our coaches for their comments…

A comment from Brayden Quinn

“Lee, wow what a guy. Lee was the kind of guy that not even a word would have to come out of his mouth before he brought you laughter. He was extraordinarily full of life and character – he was always a pleasure to be around. Lee was one of those very special individuals who genuinely care about other people and the day they’re having – he would always stop me after practice just for a chat, and ask me about my day and how I was. Lee will be severely missed and my love goes to Henry, Jules, and the entire family at this time of loss.”

A comment from Bill Sargent Jnr

“It’s difficult not to miss someone who brought such positivity to those around him.

Rarely distracted by anything sour or boring, he always managed to wring a giggle out of me and sadly missed by anyone lucky enough to have met him.”

We are proud to say we took Henry, Lee’s son, onboard from an early age and helped shape his fitness journey into the fantastic young man he is today. Henry not only kept his training schedule up but went through to get his 1st Dan Black belt and it’s an achievement we are beyond proud of him for achieving.
