My Journey with United Judo

At United Judo, we cherish every member and their journey to success, whether through competition, theory, or other achievements. Our very own Siobhan and Scott visited a local primary school to share their stories with the children, sparking inspiration in many and gaining many members along the way.

Starting from the beginning

Siobhan and Scott decided to share their story with the children, starting with Judo and how it allowed their confidence to grow. They mentioned United isn’t only a place to fight people, it’s a place to make friends, too. Both Scott and Siobhan have joined multiple sessions throughout the week!

Taking on new challenges

Through joining in with various sessions, out of their comfort zones, they grew in confidence as they decided to join in with competitive judo too. They attended multiple master classes up and down the country, including sessions with Gemma Howell and the Paralympic team in Walsall. Scott took to the sea and attended the French trip, showing how much Judo can build on your self-esteem and growth mindset.

Branching out into new horizons

Siobhan also shared that her story has impacted her aspirations, mentioning she’s found a new love within media coverage. Without anyone asking, she’s using her initiative to adapt a role for herself within British Inclusive Judo – often sharing her thoughts, news reports, and updates from each of the events held.
